About Intsika
Unleash Your Potential
Intsika Skills Beneficiation Project was established in 2003 with the idea of responding to the high rate of unemployment, skills shortage, and lack of establishment of sustainable small business hubs amongst historically disadvantaged groups.
Our main mission is to be a hub of excellence in the provision of both skills and opportunities for historically disadvantaged individuals including people with disabilities in the sector. We have managed to make a big difference in the Ekurhuleni region and have a positive impact in the lives of all our beneficiaries. We are also proud to say that we comply with the national governing bodies (SETA, MQA, QCTO, SAQA, and NAMB).

Empowerment & Access
Intsika exists for people the jewellery industry has historically excluded — including people with disabilities. That’s stated plainly here because it’s the point of the organisation, not a footnote: real accredited training, leading to real, marketable manufacturing skill.
Mission
A hub of excellence.
Our main mission is to be a hub of excellence in the provision of both skills and opportunities for historically disadvantaged individuals including people with disabilities in the sector.
Vision
A world-class workforce.
An empowered youthful workforce able to produce world-class, locally manufactured and designed jewellery products to the South African and international market.

Our Impact and Purpose
Closing a national skills gap.
The Jewellery Manufacturing Industry has identified Jewellery Manufacturing as a critical skill. 80% of commercial jewellery in South Africa is imported. Production software and hardware is commercially available, which has brought about a critical need in the industry to convert experienced operators into qualified jewellery manufacturers.
Currently there is a shortage of well-rounded goldsmiths that can manufacture for the South African jewellery market. This qualification will produce more skilled goldsmiths, raising the quality standard, enabling strong links to be forged with industry and making the industry more competitive in the global market.
