Our Mission

Unleash Your Potential

Intsika Skills Beneficiation Project was established in 2003 to respond to South Africa’s high rate of unemployment, its shortage of manufacturing skills, and the lack of sustainable small-business hubs for historically disadvantaged communities.

Our main mission is to be a hub of excellence in the provision of both skills and opportunities for historically disadvantaged individuals, including people with disabilities, in the sector. We’re proud to comply with the national governing bodies — SETA, MQA, QCTO, SAQA, and NAMB.

Why Intsika Exists

80% of commercial jewellery in South Africa is imported.

There is a shortage of well-rounded goldsmiths who can manufacture for the South African market. Intsika exists to close that gap — producing skilled goldsmiths, raising the industry’s quality standard, and giving real opportunity to the people best positioned to do this work. We have made a measurable difference in the Ekurhuleni region.

In-House Manufacturing

Consumables and components, made here.

High costs and limited access to essential components hold the sector back. We manufacture jewellery-making consumables in-house — industry-standard products that support our learners, create employment, and level the playing field.
